The Nusantara Institute for Sustainable Socioeconomic Innovation (NRI) is a leading independent Indonesian think tank focused on supporting Indonesia’s sustainable development in a globalized world.
With the motto “Rooted in Indonesia, shaping global insights” (Berakar di Indonesia, Membentuk Wawasan Global), we draw on Indonesian values and local knowledge to navigate global challenges. By working with national and international partners, we explore how foreign investment, trade, and innovation can support inclusive and sustainable progress—especially in agriculture, the green economy, and rural development
Through independent research, public forums, and policy engagement, NRI connects global developments with Indonesia’s local realities to support informed, inclusive, and forward-looking strategies.
NRI’s work is part of a bigger mission: helping Indonesia achieve the goals set out in the 1945 Constitution and the long-term vision for Indonesia 2045.

Dewa Gede Sidan Raeskyesa is a PhD researcher at the Institute for International Political Economy at WU Vienna, Austria (Vienna University of Economics and Business). He holds a Master of Science in International Economics and Public Policy from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany, and participated in the Advanced Studies Program in International Economic Policy Research at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, Germany.
His work focuses on the role of foreign direct investment (FDI) in promoting sustainable and inclusive development. He examines how local policies influence investment outcomes and regional development, with a particular emphasis on Asia.
